The College Football Playoff selection committee last week released the first version of its rankings, triggering the annual reframing of commentary around ostseason positioning. After debuting at No. 11, the Oklahoma Sooners can see a potential bid to the tournament if they squint really hard. It not like OU hasn made a late playoff charge before.Even in a good year, the debate about which teams will make the playoff is tedious. The weekly update by the committee provides ample grist for speculation about its members motivations and criteria (In reality, you can reverse engineer a methodology that shows the committee makes fairly predictable decisions from week to week.) Expect the pontificating this year to reach a fever pitch of ridiculousness https://www.osoutletstore.com/Obi_Obialo_Jersey-87. Between slapdash schedules and all manner of potential caveats available thanks to Covid-19, your David Pollacks and Joey Galloways will find no shortage of ammo for firing off hot (and absurd) playoff takes.Aside from winning the rest of its games https://www.osoutletstore.com/Hayes_Bufkin_Jersey-79, OU hopes of reaching the top four hinge on lots of other teams around it losing. However, out of all the years for fans to get invested in this, 2020 just isn it. No matter how good you believe OU team may be, it will have a fairly weak case. Teams are most likely signing up to get blasted by Alabama anyway, so keep the kvetching to a minimum.Other thoughts from the holiday weekend slate:The top headline in Big 12 country had to be the Iowa State Cyclone 23-20 win over the Texas Longhorns. ISU march to a spot in the Big 12 title game makes for a nice story and all, but the intrigue is in Austin. Texas coach Tom Herman may be heading for the exit as his team muddles through another disappointing season. If and when Herman gets his walking papers, Il have more thoughts on the state of play at OU biggest rival. For now, Il just note that Herman built his reputation at Houston playing the role of David versus higher-profile programs. He never really seemed to adjust his coaching style to fit being Goliath.Speaking of Iowa State and coaching changes, Matt Campbell name keeps coming up in connection with Michigan, where the Wolverines are cratering under Jim Harbaugh.I honestly don view that as a no-brainer decision for Campbell. Despite the Maize and Blue prestigious tradition, winning big in Ann Arbor gets harder by the day.I still bet on Campbell saying yes to the Wolverines if it comes to that https://www.osoutletstore.com/Nasir_Kemper_Jersey-136, of course. Most impressive performance of the weekend: Notre Dame 31, North Carolina 17.The undefeated Fighting Irish notched arguably the best win of the season in early November when they upset Clemson. Two resounding victories since then have proven that ND didn just reap the benefits of playing the Tigers when they were shorthanded. The Irish absolutely locked down UNC on Friday in their 31-17 win. The Tar Heels gained an average of 5.2 yards per play, the lowest mark of the season for their explosive offense. Meanwhile, the Irish thumped away at the UNC defense with a combination of physical receivers and runnings backs to help quarterback Ian Book control possession with a precise offensive attack. Most surprising performance goes to Oklahoma State, which clawed its way to a 50-44 victory of Texas Tech. This was surprising more in terms of the context than the actual outcome. The Cowboys found themselves in one hell of a flat spot, and they were missing star running backs Chuba Hubbard and LD Brown. The Red Raiders managed to stay within striking distance in the second half, but the Pokes didn crack. After watching Texas AM against LSU on Saturday, I can envision a playoff game going well for a team quarterbacked by Kellen Mond. Defensive coordinator Mike Elko has put together a tough unit, though, led by one of the best defensive lines in the nation. Ironically, it Jimbo Fisher who needs to get his side of the house in order for the Aggies to compete for an SEC title. https://www.osoutletstore.com/Drake_Stoops_Jersey-33 https://www.osoutletstore.com/Eric_Gray_Jersey-114

The Florida State Seminoles are on the hunt for a new athletic director looking to replace current AD David Coburn, the school confirmed Wednesday night.Coburn, who been at the helm of the athletic department since May of 2019, is now Vice President of the university alongside being the director of athletics Lawrance Toafili Jersey. Among many other accolades https://www.fssoutlet.com/Demorie_Tate_Jersey-50, Coburn oversaw a national championship run in women soccer and softball, a trip to the College World Series in baseball, a Sweet Sixteen run in basketball, and helped guide the Seminoles through unprecedented times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Having earned a bachelor degree, a master degree in Urban and Regional Planning, and a Juris Doctorate from the FSU College of Law, Coburn is a triple Florida State Alumnus and served as chief of staff under presidents Barron and John Thrasher prior to his current role.Coburn issued this statement:hen I accepted this position, I was determined to get the athletic program and the university I love through a historically challenging period. We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the myriad of COVID-related issues not the least of which was the potentially crippling budget impact that virtually all schools have suffered through. Our athletic department is in excellent shape. We have coaches and staff who are recognized as being among the very best in the country and we have phenomenal student-athletes who compete at the very highest level of intercollegiate athletics. I have enjoyed the position as athletics director a great deal and it has been very rewarding, but this program needs an athletic director who will be here for the long term. It is just a good time to step away and let the next generation take it from here. When the Syracuse Orange first joined the ACC, we were looking forward to more regular football matchups with the likes of former Big East teams like Boston College Dillon Markiewicz Jersey, Virginia Tech and Miami. And while wee probably had enough of BC (and them, us) by this point, meetings with the Hokies and Hurricanes have been few and far between with just two games total from 2013 through 2020. Wel get to Miami again at some point (2024, somehow), but at least we finally get our second matchup vs. Virginia Tech this Saturday. And since wee not Hokies fans, we went ahead and asked one about what to expect from Virginia Tech on Saturday. Gobbler Country Bryan Manning provides responses to our questions below. We provide some answers over there too, which you can check out.Since the ACC reverted to full chaos at this point, who your pick to win the league this year? Man, this is a tough one. The easy answer to say is Pitt. But, we are about to find out how good the Panthers really are. I really like Wake Forest, but theye played some close ones lately, and it makes you wonder who is going to trip them up at some point. You guys almost did. If Clemson takes down Pitt this weekend Syracuse Orange Custom Jersey, I have to believe the Tigers will find a way to win the league again. After a bunch of closer games to start the season, Virginia Tech had a rough outing against Pitt. What specifically went wrong in the 28-7 loss that didn in the previous games? The offense. And it not even injuries. The scheme is bad. The playcalling is bad. And the quarterback is just not very good. Look, we all like Braxton Burmeister, but he limited as a passer. The Hokies have several talented players on offense, but this coaching staff doesn know how to use them.Speaking of things not going well, it seems like Justin Fuente on the (incredibly) hot seat going into this weekend. How do you feel about the job he done in Blacksburg? I, like everyone else, thought Fuente was the best hire in that cycle https://www.sooutletstore.com/Ethan_Fischler_Jersey-20. In his first season, he won 10 games and played in the ACC title game. However, it been going downhill since. A lot of bad has happened under his watch, such as losing the bowl streak, losing to Virginia, bad recruiting classes, embarrassing home losses, etc. It time for a change, and it has been for two years now. What ailing the Virginia Tech offense this year? Play-calling? QB play? Running back issues? Offensive line struggles? Or all of the above, perhaps? See the above answer. While the Hokies have some talented players at RB, some do not fit the roles they are currently in. Raheem Blackshear should be playing more of a slot role. Instead, he the lead back. Playcalling is abysmal. The offensive scheme is worse. So many issues plague Virginia Tech offense. It been a minute since Syracuse played at Lane Stadium. Have any favorite home moments from the old Big East matchups between these teams? One comes to mind, all the way back in 1995. Donovan McNabb and Marvin Harrison played for the Orange that season, while Virginia Tech was led by star defensive end Cornell Brown. Brown chased McNabb all around Lane Stadium that day for three sacks, and while the Hokies won, we knew McNabb was going to be a major problem for the Hokies which ended up being true. Virginia Tech defense hasn fared too well against the run (allowing over 4 https://www.sooutletstore.com/Cody_Roscoe_Jersey-118.2 yards per carry this year). How do you think the Hokies try to stop SU Sean Tucker? This is a massive challenge. VT defense has looked good at times under second-year DC Justin Hamilton. Tucker presents a different kind of challenge that concerns me. You add in a mobile QB like Shrader, and it could spell disaster for Tech defense. The Hokies struggle against dual-threat passers.Where do you think Virginia Tech has a distinct advantage over Syracuse going into this game, and how crucial will that be regarding the final outcome? Honestly, I feel this is a pretty even matchup. I do like the Hokies chances of limiting the Orange passing game, but if the running game gets hot early and the Hokies over-commit to stopping the run, it could be a big day for the Syracuse offense. Who an unsung Hokies player that Orange fans should get a bit more familiar with before this game? On offense, keep an eye on WR Tayvion Robinson. While he isn unsung to VT fans, he doesn get a lot of recognition outside of Blacksburg, and that not fair. TE Nick Gallo is another name that comes to mind. Any Syracuse player that scares you, beyond the obvious choice of Sean Tucker? Shrader, because of his legs. Virginia Tech has had issues with mobile QBs, even the ones who couldn throw a forward pass, dating back to the legendary tenure of Bud Foster. Prediction time: Who wins this one and why? I am really tempted to go with Syracuse here, but I am taking the Hokies with the game being in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech 24, Syracuse 21Thanks again to Bryan for taking the time to answer these. Congratulations youe made it to the final week of the Texas Longhorns season! But instead of preparing for the College Football Playoff, or the Sugar Bowl, hell even the Alamo Bowl, youl be enjoying the bowl season without the burnt orange. That is unless they win Friday, and there aren enough 6-6 teams to receive a bowl bid. Then the Horns could snag a bowl bid. Did I just ruin your day? Wait, we haven even got into the preview yet! Before we get ahead of ourselves and dream about a trip to the Nobody Cares Bowl, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns (4-6/2-5) must get past Kansas State (7-4/4-4).Chris Klieman and the Wildcats have had an up-and-down season thus far. After starting off 3-0 with a neutral field win over Stanford and a 21-point victory over Nevada, Kansas State lost three in a row, albeit to three of the best teams in the Big 12 (Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Iowa State). Then they found their stride again, winning their next four games, albeit against some of the worst teams in the Big 12 (Texas Tech https://www.tloutletstore.com/Casey_Thompson_Jersey-103, TCU, Kansas, and West Virginia).Last week, they lost to Baylor in Manhattan 20-10 after starting quarterback Sylar Thompson was carted off. With Thompson status for Friday an utside shot and Will Howard in line to start, Texas will host a frisky Wildcast team to close out the first regular season in the Sark era.Texas and backup quarterbacks have not gone well this season. Caleb Williams and OU, Colombi and Tech, and most recently, Jalon Daniels and Kansas. As of Wednesday, it looks like the Horns might have to face another one in Howard.A familiar face to the Longhorns, Howard started in last years 69-31 shellacking as Tom Herman tenure was ending. Boy, doesn that feel like 100 years ago?Howard threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns but turned the ball over three times https://www.tloutletstore.com/Juan_Davis_Jersey-114, including a fumble and a pair of interceptions. He posted a poor 45.9 QB rating but finished with 79 yards rushing. This season, Howard has seen action in four games and started against Oklahoma State leaving the game with an injury. He completed 50 percent of his passes (21-of-42) with one passing touchdown and one interception as he still remains raw as a passer.Howard best game of the season came in Week 3 against Nevada when he threw for 123 yards, rushed for 56, and accounted for three touchdowns. Half of his passing yards came on a 68-yard strike early in the game before Kansas State was able to run the ball at will https://www.tloutletstore.com/Vernon_Broughton_Jersey-96.K-State rushed for 274 yards in last year game against Texas but turnovers like these plus not being able to stop Bijan and Roschon helped the Horns win in a blowout:Youl see him drop back a few times, but the majority of the time Kleinman will try and get Howard in RPO action or quick throws, especially screen passes. He also going to run. A lot. Howard finished with more rushing attempts than completions in the 38-17 victory over Nevada. It was the same story last year against the Horns 18 rushing attempts to 16 completions. You can bet your bottom dollar that Kleinman, Howard, Vaughn, and KSU will attack a Texas run defense with a lot of holes in it. Literally. Expect a lot of play action and look out for pre-snap motion to confuse the Longhorns defense.Sometimes theyl put the quarterback in an empty set and motion over Vaughn, other times theyl have a half back in the backfield and bring Knowles or another wide receiver in motion across. It a matchup that scares me if youe a Texas fan. The Wildcats have a great arsenal of solid weapons that are quick and don go down easy. I haven really added any of the Wildcats offensive numbers because, well, against Texas you can throw those out.Statistically, theye one of the worst offenses in the Big 12 and bottom third in total yards per game, passing yards per game, points per game, and are seventh in rushing yards per game. However, their yards per play tells a different story where they rank 36th in the nation in yards per play (6.31) and points per drive (2.65). An area they struggle in is offensive drives that start inside their own 20-yard line, where they rank 108th in the country by averaging just 1.07 yards per drive. Offensive yards might be a struggle for the Horns offense with injuries to both Casey Thompson and Hudson Card, but flipping the field position battle in their own favor could be huge. Thankfully, Texas will have Cameron Dicker for at least one more game.I could write about Deuce Vaughn and throw you some stats, but it probably just as good to show you some highlights instead. Lol.I think my ankles broke just watching that run. Goodness.Vaughn has over 1,500 yards from scrimmage this season and 17 total touchdowns. He might break 2K against Texas.Kleinman loves to use Vaughn in a variety of ways, both on the ground and in the air. He eclipsed 100 total yards of offense every game this season and averages 6.72 yards per touch. He leads the team in rushing and is one yard behind Phillip Brooks for most receiving yards on the team as well.Deuce Vaughn did it again! Knowles leads the Big 12 with two kickoff return touchdowns and is third nationally in average return (32 Tyler Owens Jersey.1). Ie got good news and bad news for you. Dicker and Texas have 45 touchbacks for you, one of the best numbers nationally. But in the 15 kickoffs that have been returned, the Horns give up 26.27 yards (120th nationally). In conclusion, don kick it to Knowles. Kansas State and Klieman defense is the best it ever been during his time in Manhattan. The Wildcats defense is at a three-year low in total yards allowed per game, passing yards allowed per game, rushing yards allowed per game, and points allowed per game. They allow 5.21 yards per play, top-25 nationally, but they also do a great job of limiting big plays. KSU only allows plays that gain seven yards or more 20 percent of the time (19th in the country) and plays over 10 yards or more just seven percent of the time (12th in the country). That doesn bode well for a Texas team that has struggled to create big plays and will be banged up come Friday.Klieman defense only returned six starters from last season, but has really turned it on over the last month. It starts with a solid defensive line and linebacking core that average 6.6 tackles for loss and 2.64 sacks per game. Timmy Horne and Eli Huggins are the tackles that are great at creating penetration and blowing up run plays. They allow just 118 rushing yards per game and a mere 3.46 yards per carry. But in their four losses this season, the Wildcats gave up about 205 yards per game. The havoc comes from sophomore defensive end Felix Aniduke-Uzomah. The kid is legit. Aniduke-Uzomah leads the conference with 11 sacks and tied the NCAA single-game sack record with six against TCU. He also forced six fumbles.Klieman has an experienced secondary thanks to a pair of transfers in Julius Brents (Iowa) and Russ Yeast (Louisville). They allow 226 yards in the air per game (3rd in the Big 12) and just above 10 yards per completion. Texas might be challenged offensively depending on the health of Casey and Card. Sark may have to depend on the running game that was able to rush for 203 yards against West Virginia.Expect a low-scoring game and that might benefit the Horns with Skylar Thompson injured. Texas is a three-point favorite over Kansas State, according to DraftKings.Odds/lines subject to change. TCs apply. See draftkings.com/sportsbook for details. Rutgers ran into a Seton Hall team that was determined to win and dropped the game 77-63.Four ThoughtsSeton Hall is Good: No one wants to hear this, especially on this site https://www.rskoutlet.com/Matthew_Sportelli_Jersey-103, but the Pirates are trending toward being a good team. They hit some tough shots, they took advantage of some defensive breakdowns and they were the home team. After the game was tied early, they never allowed Rutgers to truly get in it. One of the most astute tweets I saw tonight was by Aaron, who pointed out that the Hall forced Rutgers to start their offense around around the half court line as opposed to the three point line and it disrupted the Scarlet Knight rhythm. They also took Ron Harper Jr. out of the game, so Rutgers needs to find another option to take over. A healthy Geo Baker probably helps that. So would making some baskets around the rim. But if this game is at home, it probably a different story.Rebounding: This is a problem Rutgers has to figure out. Rebounding has always been a key under Steve Pikiell and right now it really bad. The Scarlet Knights are getting initial stops but they are not ending their defensive possessions. Too many basketballs are bouncing around and not being secured by the Scarlet Knightsot only tonight but even against Purdue and other teams Brendan Shank Jersey. If Rutgers gets 90% of their rebounds this is a completely different game down the stretch.Geo Baker: The fifth year senior is back. Baker was out for a long stretch, starting in the middle of the Lafayette game and his absence probably turned this team into a 5-5 team instead of a 5-2 team https://www.rskoutlet.com/Rene_Konga_Jersey-151. Baker is the key to this program and he gets things going and usually makes good decisions, or even bails Rutgers out of bad ones. For instance, tonight he hit a fade away two point jumper in a possession where the offense broke down at the end of the shot clock. He is a key to what the Scarlet Knights are going to do this season. The December 4 Game Gauntlet: Rutgers did what they were supposed to do. In fact, probably more so. They went 2-2 and beat the number 1 team in the country. I am sure there will be fans who are upset at Steve Pikiell for some reason, but there is still hope left for this team. The start was bad, but DePaul is starting to look like a very good team and the Lafayette loss was balanced by the Purdue win. The Scarlet Knights can afford any more non-conference slip-ups, clearly. They only have Rider, Central Connecticut State and Maine left. Any loss there would be a season killer, but Rutgers has steadied the course. Now the real season begins. 2-2 was the minimum and they did it in historic fashion. Now go on and find one more win that you aren expected to get. Three and a half months left. Let go. https://www.rskoutlet.com/Gavin_Wimsatt_Jersey-123 Max Melton Jersey

The Miami Hurricanes held off the Virginia Tech Hokies on senior night at Hard Rock Stadium https://www.mhoutletstore.com/Dominic_Mammarelli_Jersey-77. The anes emerged victorious by a final score of 38-26 over their mini-rival, the Hokies. The Canyonero keys to victory were to not give up crossing routes, to get a pass rush with a four man rush and to come ready: 1- I don recall mesh and shallow cross being as much of an issue as years past. 2- Miami sacked the QB four times and added two more hurries. 4-5 man pressures were more common than the old Diaz 6+ man pressures. 3- Miami was shot out of a cannon and led 14-3 at the end of the first quarter.
